The console, sourced from Taiwan by AES Pro Audio underwent considerable reconditioning work, under the direction of Neil McCombie (Scoth McNeil Audio) at the premises of GJC Designs / CML Audio.
Around 400 hours was needed to replace 12,450 capacitors with proprietary console spares supplied by AMS Neve. The remaining 150 hours were for testing, fault tracing and repair, customization, cosmetics and project administration.
The installation also necessitated the making of new power cables – the originals having been hacksawed through when the console had been decomissioned in Taiwan.
The logisitics of the installation itself required that the console frame had to be partly dis-assembled in the workshop prior to delivery due to access limitations at SSR.
